The Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) organized the 5th Young Scientists Congress (YSC5) was held on 25-27 November 2022 at the National Science & Technology Complex (Biggyan Bhaban), Agargaon, Dhaka-1207. The theme of the Congress this year is ‘Young Scientists for Health & Environment’. Experience from the previous events of the Series shows that the Congress provides a unique multidisciplinary environment and opportunity for the young scientists to exchange views and ideas among themselves. On 25 November to encourage, inspire and motivate the young scientists of the country in collaboration with Bangladesh Science Academy, Akiz Group, Union Bank Ltd. and National Science and Technology Museum, following the main slogan of Emeritus Professor Dr. AK Azad Chowdhury, President, Bangladesh Academy of Sciences thanked the Honorable Chief Guest for being present and inspiring everyone. Professor Dr. Haseena Khan, Secretary, Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, President of the Organizing Committee, Major General (Retd.) Professor Dr. ASM Matiur Rahman and Secretary Professor Dr. Liaquat Ali, delivered the speech. The AGM of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences held on August 27, 2022 endorsed its new Council (July 2022-June 2025)President, Emeritus Prof. Dr. AK Azad Chowdhury; Vice Presidents, Prof. Dr. Zahurul Karim, Prof. Dr. Choudhury Mahmood Hasan; Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed; Secretary, Prof. Dr. Haseena Khan; Associate Secretary, Prof. Dr. Yearul Kabir; Members: Dr. M.
