5th Young Scientist Congress 2022
Bangladesh Is now enjoying a ‘demographic dividend’ with relatively high proportion of young people serving as the primary engine for the development of the country. It is now important to equip this young generation with frontline science, technology and innovation (STI) tools so that they can serve the society better at present and also prepare themselves to face the challenges in future. Realizing the importance of attracting the best young minds to science, the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) has initiated this series of Young Scientist Congress where the senior scientists and experts from home and abroad will share their knowledge and experience with the younger counterparts who are the main focus of the series. In addition to invited lectures, there will be opportunities for oral and poster presentations on relevant topics and it is expected that a large number of active researchers will be able to interact through these free paper sessions. The fifth Congress of the series has been designed to highlight research areas addressing some of the major challenges faced by our country specially in health and environment sector. The whole world is going through a crisis in these two areas and the burden is disproportionately high in countries like Bangladesh. We believe that the younger researchers will generate stimulating ideas for their future works through this Congress.
