His research has led to numerous publications, many of which are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, further establishing his prominence in high-impact journals.

Born on December 25, 1987, Dr. Hossain began his academic journey by earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University, followed by a Master’s in Microbiology from the same institution. His passion for virology took him to Japan, where he pursued advanced studies, earning his PhD from Osaka University. He specialized in viral pathophysiology and genomics, and his postdoctoral research at Osaka University focused on host-viral interactions and viral immunology, particularly related to hepatitis B virus and herpesviruses.

Dr. Hossain's academic career at Bangladesh Agricultural University began in 2012 as a Lecturer. He quickly advanced, becoming an Assistant Professor in 2014, an Associate Professor in 2019, and achieving the position of full Professor in 2023.
