B.Sc. (Electrical Engineering), Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), 1980; M.Sc. (Microwaves & Modern Option), University College, London, UK, 1982; Ph.D. Univer-sity College, London, UK, 1986.
Guided 12 M. Sc. theses and one Ph.D. thesis in BUET.
Dana Chase Memorial Award and Best Presentation Award at the 45th International Appliance Technical Conference held at Madison, Wisconsin, USA, May 1994; Prime Minister's Award for outstanding contribution in popularizing Solar Home System in Bangladesh under the RERED Project ( Jointly financed by Bangladesh Govt. and World Bank).
Lecturer (1980 - 1986), Assistant Professor (1986 - 1989), Associate Professor (1992 - 1994), and Professor (1996 - 2005) in the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, BUET; Visiting Faculty Member, Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York. USA; Professor and Dean (on leave from BUET), School of Science and Engineering, United International University, Dhaka (2004 - 2005); Vice Chancellor, United International University, Dhaka (2005 to date).
More than 40 research articles in scientific journals of internationally repute, presented about 40 papers in national and international conferences; 2 published books/contributed articles.
