Non-negative sums and integrals of special functions. Summation and transformation theorem of basic hypergeomtric series. Q-orthogonal polynomials of q-Fourier transforms.

Math., Journal of Approximation Theory, Indian J. Math. and Ganita; reviewed a fairly large number of papers for Mathematical Reviews since 1977; was one of three organizers of the two - week workshops on "q-Series, Special functions and Related Topics", June 12 - 23, 1994 in Toronto under the auspices of the field Institute; was invited for talks in 18 professional meetings held in all over the world; reviewed some grant applications of NSSERC, NSF and Austrian Math Society, authored two books, namely (a) ‘Basic Hypergeometric Series' by G. Gasper and M. Rahman, published by Cambridge University Press in 1990 and (b) “Special functions, q-Series and Related Topicsâ€, Fields Institute Communications AMS (1997), edited by M. E. H. Ismail, D. Masson and M. Rahman; Part of Chapter 6 of "Kinetic Equations of Gases and Plasmas" by Ta-You Wu (Addison-Wesley, 1966), specifically pp. 187 - 193, is based on Ph.D. thesis.
